Catch Up!

Its been quite a few months since i last posted on the site, due to lots of reasons but basically other things taking priority !. This does not mean that i have not been working, just the opposite in fact. This year i have built a hen run, moved the polytunnel, put up a new shed with decking (made from salvaged palletts), built a fruit cage and of course planted and tended to flowers and vegetables .

The ‘construction ‘ work took a lot of my spare time and although i thought i had made a nice early start with seeds i was still late in getting some Veg planted. I only had 1st early potatoes this year and they were ‘OK’ but nothing really startling. Other veg such as Cauli, Cabbage, Beet, Sweetcorn have all done OK. Tomatoes in the poly tunnel produced a good crop with one beefstake tomato weighing a whopping 14 ozs .
We have had an excellent crop of raspberries this year , thanks in part to the netting preventing the birds from getting at the fruit.
Its that time of the year when the garden needs tidying up, planning to cover each of the raised beds and leave them until next spring. I still have 2 rows of sprouts which are growing nicely and i am also starting some potatoes in the polytunnel , hoping that we can have a christmas day crop (fingers crossed)
Thats todays update and i will follow this with posts about the new chickens .

Thanks for reading
