Just thought i would give an update on how the allotment is going on. In this part of the world (North East England ) the last few weeks have seen rain most days, wind and sunshine . The plus is that i havent had to do much watering to the vegetables in the ground. I have still been up every day to ‘look after ‘ the plants in the polytunnel mainly tomatoes with a few courgettes and peppers.
Quite a few fruits on there now, still green and hidden away.
Also outside we have potatoes, cabbages, cauliflower, onions , peas, sprouts and have created a Bee friendly area this year.
Having said that the comfry i have is covered with Bees. I am wanting to take the second cutting off this but will leave it while the flowers are still there.
Some random images of the allotment and various vegetables :
As well as the vegetables we also have Strawberries, Raspberries and a Cherry tree (that has a massive crop of 3 cherries this year !!)
My wife has also been working hard on the flowers at home , some of her baskets etc this year – all looking gorgeous
So all in all not doing too badly .
Thanks for reading / returning
